NEW YORK – Even a slight alteration to the New York Yankees’ traditional uniform can be viewed as a big change.
Apparently, the Yankees are going back to an even more basic, old-school look on the road.
On Tuesday, Uni-Watch.com reported that changes are coming to the Yankees’ gray road jerseys.
The now-familiar white outlining on both the lettering in "New York" and the number on the back is being eliminated, as is the decorative trim on the sleeves.
Uni-Watch.com writer Paul Lukas cited a source who provided a copy of MLB's 2024 Style Guide, outlining the Yankees' uniform alterations.

When would Yankees new road uniforms debut?
These new jerseys would officially debut March 28, when the Yankees open the 2024 season at Houston.
This would also represent the most significant change to the Yankees’ uniform since they transitioned from flannels in 1973.
More traditionally, the Yankees have shunned the use of alternate uniforms, though the ad patch – which debuted midseason in 2023 – would appear to be here to stay.
