While Miranda Lambert is a certified country legend, she's still reaching new milestones.
And husband Brendan McLaughlin is by her side for her latest. After all, the "House That Built Me" singer marked her very first MTV Video Music Awards with the 2024 ceremony Sept. 11. The couple—who wed in 2019—kept things cool on the red carpet, donning all-black ensembles. However, Miranda added a pop of color with a turquoise bra peeking through her black blazer and white a turquoise detailing on her lapel. (See all the stars who lit up the UBS Arena in New York here.)
Of course, Brendan and Miranda weren't the only stars to turn the award show into a glamorous date night. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his wife Lauren Sorrentino looked all loved up on the red carpet with Chanel West Coast, who freed the nipple in a daring dress, and Dom Fenison pouted for the cameras.
But not only is Miranda on-hand to see Eminem open the show and stars like Megan Thee Stallion—also the emcee—Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter take the stage she'll also be presenting. But the 40-year-old and Brendan are just along for the ride.
“This is both of our first VMAs so we’re excited to see the show," she told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi at the event. "I present Song of the Year tonight, so I really don’t have a hard job. I can just hang.”
As to what it's like for the NYPD officer to join his Grammy winner wife at these star-studded events? " It’s exciting—It really is," he told E! "It’s always an eye-opening experience.”
Heading into the ceremony, Taylor Swift is the most-nominated artist, picking up 12, while Post Malone—whose collaboration with Taylor,” Fortnight,” earned several nods, is right behind her at 11.
