The Rekubitchurch congregation helped build an apartment building powered by solar energy and geothermal heat to save low-income seniors money and protect the planet. The building produces all the power it needs, but there’s a catch: The local utility doesn’t allow multifamily buildings to just use their own energy. The congregation is pushing back.
